1ST COVID-19 CONFIRMED CASE

Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) regrettably wishes to inform the public at large that on Tuesday 30th June, 2020 the Company registered the first employee who has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is based at the WASCO Head Office (HO) in
Maseru and has since been sent and admitted to a COVID-19 quarantine health facility for treatment.
Interventions by WASCO:
- In collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and WHO COVID-19
protocols, several interventions have been set in motion and appropriate measures
put into action. - WASCO COVID-19 Rapid Response Team (WCRRT), through its team leader, is
in liaison with MoH and has evacuated all staff members housed at HO to stay at
home and the premises put under total lockdown. - Fumigation of the offices has been mobilised.All walk-in Customer Care Services have been suspended until further notice. Thus,
customers and the public at large are requested to use other walk-in facilities. You can

Water and sanitation services are central in the fight against COVID-19 (washing of hands). The Company understands the importance of the provision of these services to the customers and the public at large. On the same token, WASCO has to be committed to the safety of its staff and all external stakeholders.
WASCO makes a clarion call to all Basotho to exercise utmost care as stipulated by the COVID -19 regulations.
