WASCO and Rotaract Club of LP commemorate World Water Day and Earth Day
On a bright morning filled with purpose, WASCO joined hands with the Rotaract Club of Lerotholi Polytechnic to commemorate World Water Day and Earth Day. Students gathered with curiosity and enthusiasm, ready to reflect on their role in protecting the planet’s most vital resources.
WASCO CEO Mr. Mpeke Lebohang Makara took center stage, delivering a powerful presentation on Non-Revenue Water. He explained how water losses—through leaks, illegal connections, and inefficiencies—affect both service delivery and sustainability. His message was clear and direct: the future of water management lies in the hands of the next generation.
He urged the Lerotholi Polytechnic students to be intentional in everything they do, reminding them that their choices today will shape the future of the profession. “Be conscious, be responsible, and strive to be better professionals,” he emphasized.
The event ended on a hopeful note, with students inspired to protect water, care for the Earth, and carry forward the responsibility of building a more sustainable future.
